Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing

Matthew 7:15, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”

With all the falseness that is in the world, it is hard to know the truth. It is hard to know what is real from what is fake. The media is fake mixed with truth. The news is fake mixed with truth. One thing is truth. The Bible is 100% truth. God is 100% truth. Beware of the wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Beware of false prophets. False prophets and teachers are everywhere. The scariest ones are those that take parts of the Bible and mix it with parts that contradict the Bible. When hearing a preacher, we should have the mind to question what he or she says. If it is not in the Bible, it is not truth. If it is not of God, it is not truth. Everything taught should be backed up in the Word of God. False teachers like to manipulate the Word to their liking. Tell the Bible with a spin on it. We cannot and should not allow this to happen in our churches today.

Who come to you in sheep’s clothing. The church congregation as a whole are sheep. They look to a shepherd to guide them. That shepherd is a pastor and that pastor has a shepherd that is God. When a pastor allows him or herself to be manipulated into leaving the Bible, it affects the whole congregation. It allows Satan to have a foothold in a church of God. The place where God is supposed to be honored and praised can be turned into a den of lies when the leader trades his shepherd’s hook for a wolf costume. We need to be careful whom we believe.

Inwardly, they are ravenous wolves. Sheep have a major enemy: wolves. Wolves attack sheep which is why there needs to be a shepherd to protect the sheep. In churches, false teachers are like wolves. They like to attack the innocent sheep that are there to learn. This is the devil’s way in to churches. Allow people to think that they are in right standing with God when in fact they are believing a lie. That is how Satan attacks the followers of Jesus.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for all that You do for us. You are our Shepherd and Father. You know what is best for us and take care of us. Help us to have a mind for discerning what is right and wrong. Help us to see through the lies of a leader and look to only those that are telling the truth. Telling Your truth. We praise You and Your glorious name. Lead us away from temptation and the evil deeds of the devil.

In Your name we pray,

Amen
