1 Corinthians 10:31, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
In this world, there is so much to do. It seems that everyone is so busy, rushing around and doing things here and there. Between work, families, and other activities, there is seemingly not much time left for God. That is unless we include God in all that we do. We do not have to exclude God from our lives, keeping Him separate. We can eat, drink, and give glory to God in all that we do.
You eat. Eating is a basic need that is met. Typically, we pray before eating. We give thanks to God for the food that we are about to eat, the hands that prepare it and the other blessings that God gives us. When we start eating, we then forget all about God. In fact, if it were not for meals, we would not pray to God. We do not always remember to pray or pray enough. We should be talking to God more than just for a meal.
Or drink. When we eat, we also drink. We should also give thanks to God for the beverages that we have. We live in an area that is blessed to have clean drinking water. We do not have to worry about contaminants in the water that will harm us. We should be thankful for the water that we have and all other drinks as well.
Whatever you do. We should give thanks and credit to God for all that we are able to do. If we can walk, we should thank God. If we can see, we should thank God. If we are alive and well, we should thank God. Things could be far worse. We always need to keep in mind that there is always someone out there that has it worse than us. We should then give thanks to God and give to others as we have been blessed.
Do all to the glory of God. When we speak, eat, drink, run, laugh or play, we should do everything with a thankful and joyful heart. It is all for the glory of God, after all. God did make everything on Earth and should be able to receive the glory from His creation. God’s glory shines all around in everything that we see if we open our eyes to see it. We should look around and enjoy all that God is and all that God does.
Thank You for all that we have. We know that there are so many people who are less fortunate than us. Help us to have eyes like You have to share what we have with others. We need to give You all that You deserve. You are so wonderful and kind. Help us to talk to You more. You deserve all that we have to give to You.
In Your name we pray,
