Remember God

Philippians 1:3, “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.”

God is so great.  I love to spend time just sitting and thinking how awesome God is.  His love, infinite; His grace, endless; His mercy, enduring forever.  We truly served a God that transcends all logic.  We serve a God that is everything that we need and infinite times more than that.  We must remember God at all times.

I thank my God.  God deserves all the thanks that we can give Him.  Mostly, we must thank God for our salvation.  Without it, we would be lost.  We would not have eternal life.  We would have no chance at Heaven.  We must also learn to thank God for this life.  We have so much to live for.  Life is truly a gift that is so under appreciated.  We must thank God always for all that we have, all that we are, and all that we can spend time with.  It is all a blessing from God.

Upon every remembrance of you.  If we think about God, we need to remember to thank Him.  This does not mean that we pray only three times a day (one for each major meal).  We need to be praying a prayer of thanks to God often.  It does not have to be a prayer though.  A simple, audible “thanks” is also good.  God deserves the credit.  God does not get the credit enough.  God gets blamed a lot.  God’s name is misused a lot.  God’s name is inappropriately used.  But God does not get the credit enough.  He is responsible for so much in our lives and we continue to live like it is no big deal.  We need to remember God and give thanks.

As we enter this Thanksgiving season, we must remember all that we have and those that do not.  If there is someone in need in your community, give.  Give of the excess you have.  Help out.  Volunteer.  Get involved.  There are people out there that are hurting this time of the year.  Give of your time and give God the thanks and glory.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for all that You do for us.  You have given us so much.  Help us to give of what we have and show an open heart.  A giving heart.  See the world as You see it.  We love You and thank You most of all for sending Your Son to live and die for us.  We are a wretched people.  You love us anyways.  Thank You.

In Your name we pray,

Amen
