The Sinfulness of Man: A Nine Part Study

Romans 3:10-18, “As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” “Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”; “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Verse 15: “Their feet are swift to shed blood.”

Feet are the parts of the body that move us toward or away from something.  The feet work in conjunction with the legs as a means of motion to go in any direction that mind and heart care to lead.  This can be good or bad depending on where you go.

Feet that run toward evil cause pain.  The pain might not be right away but it will happen.  Blood shed will happen as going through life.  In life there are hard parts that will cut and bruise.  The way to avoid this is to run toward God.  God will protect us if we trust in Him completely.  Evil can cause bloodshed.  Sometimes physically and sometimes emotionally.

Feet that run toward good cause joy.  Joy not just for the one but potentially for all.  God wants us to live life happy.  This will not always happen but it can.  When approaching a bad situation, look to God.  Pray.  That can turn a bad situation into a good one.  Prayer heals all.  I have truly learned that over the years.  God is there and God cares for all of us.  We can avoid much pain and suffering if we just chose to serve God and serve Him wholly.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being there for us.  We do so much to run away from You but when we come back, You are there with arms wide open.  Help us to always turn to You.  Help us to pray more.  Help us to love more.  Help us to be joyous more.  You alone can take our sadness and make us glad.  We need You every hour of every day.  You are there and we ask for Your mercy for the times that we are not following You.

In Your name we pray,

Amen
