Proverbs 28:21, “To show partiality is not good, Because for a piece of bread a man will transgress.”
All men are equal. There is not one that is more important than another in the eyes of God. God does not show partiality to any of us and thus, we should not show partiality to others. This is the law and this is how it is to be followed.
No partiality because it is not good. God’s instructions do not tell us to love some and not others. They do not say be kind to some, share with some, or be there for some. We are to love all, be kind to all share will all, and be there for all. One group of people is not to be pitied more than another. It is so easier to do this because of circumstances that happen. This is not how God operates; this is not how we should operate.
God sent His Son for all. He did not send His Son to die for the people of Israel or the people of the United States. He sent Him to save the whole world. All people sin. All people fall short of perfection like God. God loves us all and wants all of us to accept the gift of salvation. He extends this gift to all. None of us deserve it. We did not earn it. We can never earn it. Only by humbling ourselves can we be saved by Jesus.
A mere piece of bread can cause a man to sin. People commit crimes for the strangest of reasons. Some for money. Some for revenge. Some for fun. Regardless, people sin for reasons that defy logic. This is true with partiality. People will prefer one group over another for illogical things as well. God does not do this. He does care if we are male or female, black, white, red, green or purple. God created all of us. We are created in his image. Therefore, He loves all of us the same. Now we are not perfect so there is no way for us to love everyone the same. We should try with all our might, though, to love everyone and get along with everyone as best as we can.
As Christians, we are to strive to be there for each and every person. Be there to provide the message of salvation to all those that need it. This is how we can show love. Love is shown by the caring for each and every person’s soul. It does not matter the background of the person; all can come to Christ and be saved. The murderer can come to Christ as shown on the cross when Jesus hung dying. He told the one criminal that He would see him in Paradise. There is no one beyond saving. We cannot show partiality in delivering the gift of Christ.
Just think for a moment if someone had done that to you. You would not be saved. You would not be going to Heaven. That is sad. We need to show love to all and be fair to all so that everyone may come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. This is how we are to live and this is how Jesus lived. Sinner, tax collectors and other lowly people were who Jesus hung out with. If these were good enough for Jesus, everyone should be good enough for us. No partiality to anyone. That is how we should live today.
Thank You that You gave us the gift of salvation. We were not passed over. We were not forgotten. Help us to see others as You see others, as Your creation. I pray that we can break down the walls that divide and we can all come together as one people. Humankind. Differences aside. Color Aside. Gender aside. We are people. Help us to act like children of God and love each other equally.
In Your name we pray,
