Romans 1:18-19, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.”

Ungodliness and Unrighteousness.  Nothing riles up the wrath in God more than these.  God desires that all come to know Him and seek righteousness.  We need to seek God and flee from the evil that contradicts God.  Flee unrighteousness and ungodliness.

Ungodliness and unrighteousness are wicked and wrong.  They are the complete opposite of God, who is righteous, pure and perfect.  The God that created all cannot do anything wrong.  He cannot be wicked.  God created a perfect world that was tainted with sin due to the free will of man.  Free will eliminated the perfect utopia that was the Garden of Eden.  From that time forward, all levels of ungodliness and unrighteousness have evolved with humankind.  Wars, murders, crimes, and worst of all, complete denial of God.

There is no way to quantify how bad sin is because all sin is the same.  It is a separation from God.  In order to be with God, we must be forgiven of our sins.  All of them.  Everyone knows what they have done that is right or wrong.  A conscious was given to each man and woman to know right from wrong.  It is for this reason that It is mentioned that God showed all the truth.  The truth about Himself.

God is a God of love but is also a God of wrath.  He does not and will not tolerate people who do not follow Him.  He gives every opportunity to change from the evil ways and take the gift of salvation from sin.  In the end, though, it is our choice to choose God or not.  To choose to follow God and live for Him or to live against Him.  There is no middle ground.

We must make a choice daily.  Sometimes by the minute.  It only takes one misstep to go down a path that leads away from God.  One sin can lead to another and another and another.  These sins accumulate and without the forgiveness of sin, we cannot enter Heaven.  We cannot be with God.  God and sin cannot be together.  Only by the shed blood of Jesus can God be with us.  This is because our sinful states are erased by the blood and God only sees perfection yet again.  We are not perfect but we are made perfect because of Jesus.  Remove Jesus from our lives and we remove ourselves from God’s.

Let us keep God close.  He should be our first thought when we wake up and our last thought when we go to sleep.  In everything that we do, we should think about God.  Think how God would feel if we did this or that.  If we question it, we should not do it.  Better to avoid that than upset the Almighty.  We must also be willing to ask continually for forgiveness.  We will continue to sin.  There is no question about that.  The key is to continue to talk to God and ask Him to forgive us and try not to sin again.  Do not purposely sin just because God will forgive us.

Flee evil.  All forms of evil.  Seek good.  Seek God.  Seek Heaven above, as this is the ultimate reward for all those who know God intimately.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for all that You are.  You are good.  You made a way for us.  We are sinful.  We do wrong and we ask that You forgive us.  Not because we deserve it but because You love us enough to save us.  You love Your creation.  Help us to flee from all forms of evil.  Help us to look to You.  You are our great example and let us live a life like Yours.  We know that we can never be perfect but we are thankful that we are perfect through the love of Jesus, Your Son.  Thank You always.

In Your name we pray,

Amen
