Matthew 5:1-12, “And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.'”
Blessed are the meek. Meek means enduring injury with patience and without resentment. Much harder than it sounds. Many men and women throughout history have been considered meek. So many are injured and killed in the name of Jesus throughout this world. Story after story can be found about what people have had done to them all because they spoke the name of Jesus.
In America, I am able to practice my religion of my own volition. In other countries, I know that this is not always the case. So it is with humble spirit that I lift up those in other countries in prayer for safety that I enjoy.
For they shall inherit the earth. The meek will get everything. Not the strong who force their ways on others. Not the bully of the playground. The meek, who are the ones getting beat by the bully, get the reward. This is not referring to the old Earth that is corrupt but the New Earth that will be created after all evil is dispatched. The meek, who serve God, get everything when they had nothing. Even with nothing, with Jesus, we have everything.
Jesus is all we need. Are you meek? Get there! We need to be meek for God. Proclaim Him, regardless of the consequences. Proclaim Him from the rooftops. Praise His name forever. Lift our voices and sing. God’s Word is not meant to be hid. It is meant to be spread.
We love You and tahnk You for all that You are. Your Son endured so much on the cross for us. May we consider ourselves blessed to endure pain and suffering for Your name. May we consider ourselves loved through the stress and anxiety of life. Your gifts far outweigh all the possessions of this Earth. You are worthy of all of us. All of our honor and praise we can give should and need to be directed to You.
In Your name we pray,
