My Refuge and My Strength

Psalms 91:2, “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.'”

Who can say of the Lord that He is there refuge and fortress?  First, you would need to know what a refuge and a fortress.  Refuge – Something that provides shelter.  Fortress – A heavily protected and impenetrable building.

So the Lord is a shelter and a impenetrable, heavily protected structure.  Trust is also put in the Lord.  If you trust someone, you would be willing to lower your guard when you are around them.  With the Lord, full trust can be applied.  The Lord is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  What He said two thousand years ago applies today and is the same today.

In the storms of life when stress, anxiety, depression, anger, and others come around, the Lord is there.  He is there for us through all the bad times and the good times.  He does not leave when the times are good and only come around when the times are bad.  He is there.  He is our protection.  He is our castle that saves us from the enemy.

Our God is more powerful than anything in the world.  If we trust in Him and abide in Him, there is nothing that can harm us.  That does not mean that we will not suffer from physical ailments.  This means that when we are with God, our spiritual ailments are covered.  Covered by the blood of Jesus, who died on the cross to remove sin from a sinful world.

Do you abide in God?  Do you trust in God?  Is God your refuge and fortress?  If you aanswered yes to all thre, then you are truly blessed.  If you answered no to any of these, you must ask why.  We need to abide, trust, and let God be our refuge and fortress.  He is there for us to care for us.  He is there for us to love us.  His love covers us like a blanket.  We are safe in His arms.  Safety from all that is bad.

Heavenly Father,

We love You and we trust You.  We want to live with You.  You are our strength and our pouwer.  Without You, we are nothing.  With You, we are everything.  I pray that all that come to know You full abide in You and allow You to wrap Your arms around them.  You are our protecter, healer, caregiver, and friend.  You are our Father and we are Your children.  Thank You for the relationship that we can have with You.

In Your powerful name we pray,

Amen
