Psalms 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”
Lamps and Lights. Used to be able to see and know where to go in the darkness. Headlights on a car help to see on the roadway. A flashlight can help see a fusebox when the power goes out. A lamp came shine light in the forest during a camp-out. In all cases, lights and lamps are important to see where you are and where you are going.
The Word is a lamp. The Bible is used to provide instruction on how to live life. This instruction shines light onto the feet of reader. The feet are important as they are how the person goes from place to place. In order to know where to go, your feet need to be able to be sure of what is ahead. The Word of God shows what is expected of now and what is to come. This is how the Bible lights the way for all who believe in God.
A light to my path. There are two paths in this world to take. The path to God and the path away from God. A light will help to see the difference. A light will guide you. Allow Jesus to be the Light that shines.
Jesus is the Light. He is the Light of the world. He shines in the darkness and set us free from the evil that looms in the dark.
Thank You for sending Your Son to be the Light. We want to live in the light. I pray that all who hear about You strive to come to the light. You are our God. You are our salvation. You are all we need. Thank You for being the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
In Your name we pray,
