Romans 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Conforming to the world.  So many people want to be like their favorite athlete, celebrity, or even just someone they went to school with.  Though it seems “cool” to do this, God poses another angle to this thought pattern.  Live for Heaven, not this world.  Live for Him, not for others.

God gives us this life to prepare for the next life.  We need to live according to God, not according to what the world wants.  The world will have you believe this fad or that fad, but I present you something that has never gone away: following God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.

When looking at what is happening in the world, it is easy to pick a side.  It is easy to get hooked into the issues of the world.  God wants us to look past this world and look to Him.  How we live here determines where we go after death.  What happens in this world does not matter.  What happens to your soul does matter.  Your mind needs to be focused on God and His will.

What is good and acceptable?  Jesus lived a perfect life to show an example as how we are to live.  Everything that Jesus did pointed back to the Father.  Everything that Jesus did pointed to the will of God.  When living a good and acceptable life, we need to be mindful of the will of God.  What is the will of God?  God’s will includes having everyone come to Him and accept Him as their Lord and Savior.

To sum this up: Jesus is the only example to follow, not other people.   This is what God wants.  This is what we should want as well.  God is love so we should show love.  God is not hate.  God is not influenced by others’ agendas.  God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Let us come together and come to God.  Let us love and show God’s love.

Today’s challenge is this: show love to as many people as you can in your speech, your actions, and your thoughts.  Your love will be contagious and spread like wild fire.  This world needs love and this love can only come from God.  Continue this challenge for your life and teach others.  This message is needed by the world.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for your will.  Thank You for Your love.  Thank You for being an awesome God.  When we accept You as Lord and Savior, we know that we revoke our citizenship on Earth and accept a citizenship in Heaven.  Help us to spread Your love into this world.  We have to live in this world for a time and we need to spread Your message to all parts of the world.  We are grateful for all that You do for us.  You are our God, strong and protective.

In Your excellent name we pray,

Amen
