Matthew 13:31-32, “Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
A mustard seed. One of the smallest seeds that can be planted. Yet, this seed can turn into a big tree. This big tree also becomes home to all kinds of wildlife.
People coming to God and being saved is what grows the kingdom. This parable is proof that the efforts of one man can have a great impact. Even the least of people can grow into the greatest of ministers for God. This is how the kingdom of God is spread. This is how the kingdom of God grows.
Many of the early believers such as the apostle Paul and Peter were fundamental in the growth of the church and the growth of the kingdom. The converted people were then charged to spread the Word of God to the world. The Word of God is not meant to be hidden. If a seed stays in the ground, it dies. If it is not fed, it dies. The seed must be fed so that it may grow.
Go out and spread the Word of God! This is a command from Jesus. The kingdom of God grows from the believers that talk about God and live lives for God. Without believers, Christianity will die, just like a tree without food and water. Let us not let Christianity fade. It is up to us to pass on our beliefs to the next generation.
