Under the sun, nothing new is done…

Ecclesiastes 1:9, “That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.”

King Solomon came to the same realization that so many after have come to.  The sins and the works that people do are not different.  Humanity has existed for over 6000 years and still commits the same sins over and over again.  People still lie, still cheat, and still kill.  Nothing new under the sun.

Each day comes with its own set of problems.  There is hope though.  We serve a God that is bigger than problems.  He is bigger than the world He created.  God knows his creation and knows all our problems and loves us anyways.  Even when His creation continues to do the same things, God is timeless and patient and kind.

How awesome it is that our God is an awesome God!  Even with nothing new, God shows His consistency over and over again.  His love never changes or fails.  His son’s life and death is still a reality.  The gift of salvation is still available.

Will you continue to live in the rut of doing the same thing over and over?  Will you be happy where you are?  I pray that you, instead, choose God.  Choose God’s love.  Choose salvation.  Each day may be like the next next, but with God, those days can be better because God is in your heart.  This world is temporary.  Why not prepare for the next world that God has in store for us?  God wants to come in.  Invite Him in.  You will not be disappointed with that decision.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for each and every day that we are blessed with.  Each day is because of you.  I pray your blessings over this world that is hurting for one reason or another.  We are a world that needs you.  We are a world that needs to stop settling for the normal and go for the extraordinary.  You are the extraordinary.  You are everything.  Thank you for sending your son to die on the cross so that we can have tomorrows and more importantly, eternal life.  You deserve all the honor and all the praise.

In your great and powerful and holy name we pray,

Amen
