Ephesians 2:8-10, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
The gift that God gives us does not come in a box or wrapped in fancy paper or have a big bow on it. The gift that God gives come in the form of a man. The man, Jesus Christ, who never stopped being God but became a man to go through life as humanity goes through life. His life and death are the gift that brings salvation to those who accept it.
The greatest part of this gift is that no one has to be “good enough” to receive it. You don’t have to look a certain way or act a certain way beforehand to get this gift. This gift is given freely. All that is required is to give your mind, body and soul to God. This gift cannot be earned or won. Through accepting Jesus into your heart, the gift is opened and the soul is saved.
Jesus wants to come in and live inside everyone. Not everyone is open to letting Him in though. People want to try to achieve salvation on their own or go about salvation in other ways. John 14:6 says, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” The “him” in the verse was Thomas, who was a known doubter. That is how so many be are. Doubting that God is who He says He is. Doubting the gift.
Will you accept the gift? Will you ask God in? Will you realize that you can’t save yourself? Give yourself to God and ask Him into your life. You don’t have to clean up your life to come to God. Come to God with your faults and accept Him today. You will not regret this decision.
Thank you God for the gift of salvation. Without this gift, we all would die and not live with you in Heaven. We are not saved on our own or good enough on our own to be with you, God. We need you, God. Please come into our hearts today and renew us mind, body and soul. Please be over all those who do not know you personally and I pray that they come to know you like I know you.
In your ever gracious and ever giving name we pray,
If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I would be happy to talk to you and guide you through the steps to become saved. Don’t wait. Jesus’ gift is far too important to ignore. Be sure to comment and I will connect with you and be there for you.
